Vice
President’s Report
Rusty is looking for a volunteer for the demonstration for
next month.
Librarian’s
Report
There are
about 50 items in the library for borrowing. Anyone interested in using any of the
DVD’s, should contact John.
John is
interested in purchasing a 3 DVD set on the different levels of turning. The
set is $110.00. It was moved, seconded and passed to order the set.
Communications
A letter was
received from Beth Ireland of Turning All American. She is looking to raise
$30,000.00 to put another vehicle on the road so she can travel around putting
on demonstrations. She has received about a third of the amount. Anyone
interested in donating should contact Ron.
An e-mail
from AAW was received regarding the liability insurance each club receives at
no charge. Unfortunately, the cost of this insurance has gone sky high and is
no longer financially acceptable. They are continuing to look for suitable and
affordable alternatives. They will keep us informed.
Old Business
Volunteers are still needed to help with the
Make A Wish program at the fair.
A volunteer is also needed to transport the
club’s lathe to and from meetings and to demonstrations and to the fair. Please
let Ron know if you are interested.
New
Business
At the December meeting, a box of colored wood samples from
Keystone Sporting Arms of Milton, Pa. was shown, which we could order for our
use. A motion was made, seconded and carried that we as a club would order an
amount large enough to get a discount. We have a sign up list if you are
interested in ordering. The discount price is $1.00 a pound, and we would
charge $1.50 per pound to cover the cost of wrapping it and going to pick it up.
Anyone interested contact Pat Boggan at pibogan@aol.com.
Only prepaid orders will be filled. Pat’s address is: 34 Siberling Drive,
Cheektowaga, NY 14225.
Orders will be taken at the February meeting and will then
be determined when the order will be picked up.
If you have any questions, call, e-mail or phone Ron. (phone
716/652-6664)
Also, if you haven’t paid your dues yet, they should be paid
by the February meeting.
