Old
Business
A reminder
to all members, that the fair is just around the corner, and now is a good time
to start to make items for that event. Bring them into any meeting, and we will
store them for the fair.
Jim Hilburger is offering a hands on session at Barb’s Barn on
the following dates:
Mar 3; Mar 17;
and Mar 31 if needed
Each
session will be from 9AM to 3PM; Lunch 12 sharp
Cost: $5.00
He will be
covering his production turning techniques of items that he demoed at the Jan
meeting. These are all items that can be sold at the fair. He will also do
sharpening.
Call Barb if
interested at 652-4156. There is a limit of participants to each session.
From Jake Debski:
Since our February meeting had weather related poor attendance, I will
present this at the March meeting.
I am going to ask for a vote on a program for May. I would like to bring in
a professional turner/ demonstrator for our May meeting, and 2 day of hands on at
Barb’s Barn. Starting Thursday the 10th, and continuing Friday, 11
and Saturday, 12. The presenter will be William Grumbine
Bill demoed at the ’06 Totally Turning in
Bill charges $150 for the demo and $400 per day for the hands on, plus
expenses. Estimated cost will be about $1300. We would recoup some of the cost
by charging $30 for members and $40 for member of other clubs to attend the
hands on, 10 participants per/day. The Thursday demo would be free to all out
members in good standing. Thank you for your consideration and see you in March.

When most
of us get wood, it’s either found or given to us. Often we question what it
might be. If you have a high-speed internet connection this web site can be
very helpful.
