Announcements
Concerning
last month’s newsletter, I have to apologize it did not get to you before the
meeting. I did it the week before the mail-out date and simply forget to send
it to Bree to have it posted. So, it was not Bree’s fault that you did not
receive it before the meeting, it was totally mine.
Ron passed
around a get well card for Barb Berger who had emergency surgery.
Ron also
informed the club members that Pepper Weinheimer’s stepson passed away
suddenly, and that he will send a card.
VP Ron
Ellis announced the demo this month will be Don Agino from Pembroke, and he
will be demonstrating the Sorby multi tool.
Ron found
Barb Berger’s skew that was left after Jim’s sharpening demo.
Librarian:
Paul Boland reminded club members that DVD’s are available to take out at no
cost.
Brian Defoe
brought in more wood blanks for anyone interested.
Communications
received:
From
Rockler: a $20 gift certificate with a letter reminding club members to use
their membership card when purchasing items. The certificate will be used as a
show & tell award.
From
Woodcraft: the store is going out of business. A 3 day sale will begin
Wednesday followed by an auction at a future date.
Old Business
Pat
Delmonte will host the July meeting at his home on July 21st (third
Thursday). If you have a preference on the demo, let Pat know.
Reminder
to keep turning for the fair.
Reminder
to also turn for the school. Bring those items to the June meeting. Theses
items will be judged by the membership. Top three will receive a cash prize.
All items will be donated to the school, however.
Picnic
is August 25th. The sign-up sheet will be available at eh May
meeting.

Discussion
on the website. Concerns were expressed that no information is being posted.
Possible options include:
1, Start our own website. Paul
stated that is not feasible as there is a problem with ability to change
information.
2. Pay someone to do our own site?
Separate cost involve with setting up own website.
3 Check
with club 1 regarding sharing cost to pay person.
4. In a
pinch Paul would take the site back for a short time.
5. Brianna
informed Club 1 that she was having computer problems.
6. Ron has
invited her to meetings. He will call Steve regarding #3 above.

ELMER’S CORNER
Found in Woodsmith,
Vol 33/ no. 194: Cleaning sanding Belts
To clean
sanding belts that are clothed backed, like the one found on a thickness
sander, which are expensive, the contributor of this article found just water
and a soft brush works. Because these belts are usually cloth-backed, soaking
them with warm water won’t damage the belt. And since most glue is water
soluble, the belts come clean with just a little scrubbing,
Now the
belts on the thickness sander last longer and some money is saved over time.

submitted,
