Announcements
I received
this via e-mail for your information;
Hello
I am writing you because I recently acquired about 5,000 pieces +/- pieces of
walnut that was destined for the wood stove this past heating season. I have
sold to wood turning groups in NYS, in Syracuse and Rochester. They told
me of the great volunteer work for fund raisers. That gave me to the incentive
to sell it inexpensively. My wood turning skills are zero, but I couldn't see
the wood getting used for fuel as it would be a sin. I acquired it from a gun
stock manufacture who used it for pistol grips and forearm pieces. Anyway he
ended his manufacturing operation and retired. I purchased this and other
pieces of wood he had.
It is completely dried to about 6-8% moisture content and measures
2"x2"x 6". I am selling it at $1.25 a piece plus shipping. But
if your club orders large quantities 400 pcs or more I can deliver it to the
nearest club member or we can meet someplace that is half way in between. I am
sure my friend would appreciate me getting it out of his garage. lol.
If you know of any other turning groups I would appreciate you forwarding the e
mail to them. If you need a sample I can send it along or you can contact Larry
at the CNY wood turning group for a reference. The way they ordered is they
took my info to a club meeting and one person handled the order for the group.
I delivered it all at once and they gave me a club check
My Cell Number is 315 794 4872 and e mail is BillHeron@hotmail.com
Thanks
Bill

Delmonte reported on the” Carving for Cause” There will be an auction on Oct 12

so if you want to help in this venture see Pat or Rick Crowe to get some wood.
You need to bring back one out of two pieces of wood. Also, Rick asked about
having a juried multimedia art show for the items being made out of this wood.
