Pres. Ron
Hudson called the meeting to order at 6:30 at the family picnic at St
Nicodemus. He thanked everyone attending for all the delicious food they
brought, and all the members who worked at the fair to make it another
successful year.
Those of us
that attended had a good time and many shared “fair stories.”

Another
great year. Thanks to all who made it possible!
The winner

be discussed at the Turner 1 meeting on the 1st. Ultimately it is
the winner’s choice.
Rich also
mentioned that we need to discuss the variety of produce for the fair next
year. We need to come up with some different products for those buyers that
visit us every year, and buy just because it is for Make-A-Wish and they want
to support them.

Correspondences
received by Ron include:
Stan
Wellborn, director of AAW, his message topic: Working without a Rule book.
Basically he mentions that all woodturners work within a set of basic safety
rules He then challenges all turners to consider “working outside the box.” in
our turnings at the same time adhering to the safety basics thus promoting new
and interesting turnings and techniques.
North
Wood Figured Wood response to survey we sent in. They sent the club some items
that will be raffled off at the Sept. meeting for our response. A big leaf
maple bowl blank and some black walnut pen blanks.
Also,
they offered a 15% discount for online purchases to members. The coupon code
is: WOODTURNER.
